Just.discovered: Teeki

I just came across this amazing new brand... Teeki. The idea behind the brand was to create functional, fashionable and eco conscious bikinis that not only look awesome but also give back to the planet.

I am always on the look out for new ethical/green brands and designers as I feel its got to be part of the way forward for the fashion industry. They make amazing looking bikini's all made from recycled plastic water bottles! Teeki found the perfect process to make stylish, breathable, quick drying and durable materials while keeping rubbish off our streets.

There is so much fast fashion going on, and being cheap and on trend its hard to say no to all the beautiful new clothes when you walk down the high street. Yet we need to slow down and think about the damage we are doing, take a step back and see what else is out there.

There are now so many alternatives... Upstyling with a bit of DIY, Vintage Stores, Ebay (yes Ebay! so many people are selling new unworn clothes they don't want, better buy them or get selling all your unwanted clothes, or we will continue to send massive piles of perfectly wearable clothes to landfill). Plus there are sooo many great designers working with organic cotton and recycled materials such as:
Katherine Hamnett, Stella McCartney, Dr Noki and Orsola De Castro
and brands such as:
Noir by Peter Ingwersen, People Tree, From Somwhere and Edun by Ali Hewson.

So go check out the above or have a browse of Livia Firth's online shop or Esthetica (an BFC initiative)

Just.worn: Treetop Denim

Nothing like an outfit post from the branches of a tree! My friend (and I) thought it would be fun to get me to climb a tree to photograph this outfit?! These ideas always seem good at the time but eventually you are faced with the reality that you are quite possibly stuck in a tree. I did manage to get down in the end (although I will be keeping my feet firmly on the ground for the foreseeable future), otherwise I will have to build a tree house and blog to you from there!

Just.worn: Shorts & Sneaks

Summer is finally here (but lets not jinx this) and it's just my luck that I have the worst cold! However, I can't stand the thought of having to be locked up in a dark room being ill, when I can simply curl up outside in the sunshine on a sun lounger in my back garden. Sunshine has to be the best cure for everything, so fingers crossed I'm feeling better by tomorrow!

So here is a quick outfit post of what I would have been wearing out today if did not have to be within 2 metres of a box of tissues at all times and wrapped in a blanket. My brand new leather shorts from H&M, find of the month as they were only £15 in the sale and the only pair in my size left, and predictably, teamed with a pair of kicks and an oversize tee! I love my springcourts, they are the most comfortable sneaks I have ever owned, not to mention the only sneaks other than my converse I believe it is acceptable to own in more than one colour!

I have a ridiculous amount of kicks and sneaks which is forever growing bigger and bigger, and I am debating if I should step up to join the wedge trainer gang? Of course I would love to go all out with a pair of Isabel Marant bad boys, but with the slight issue of price and availability, maybe a pair of Ash Coolbis or Topshop Aerobic's would be just as gangster?

Just.launched: CJG

Last Thursday saw the launch of Chloe Green's debut shoe collection, Chloe Jade Green. A collection featuring sky high wedges and heels inspired by illustrated butterflies, skulls and roses. If your a bit of a vertiginous heel fan, you will love every pair! I love the contrast of delicate crystal detailing and finely knotted straps with the tough metal zips and hardware.
Each pair features her signature green sole (a little bit of a Louboutin rip off, but saying that I do like the idea of a bright green flash with every step)!

Check out the interview featured on Topshop's blog and also follow the story of the new collection on the CJG blog.

These 3 designs below have to be my favourites, any of which I would quite happily take home and find space for in my already over crowded shoe collection!!!

Just.wrote: Delusions Of Perception

Delusions Of Perception

They say two’s company, three’s a crowd… but as we spend most our time in our own company, is it still deemed a crowd when it’s just me, myself and I?
So can we ever be alone if it really is two’s company, where there are two sides to every story and two heads are better than one – it would seem like the whole world has a split personality but there’s a particular kind of deep rooted schizophrenia which few of us dare address.

Just.edited: A Kaleidoscope of Inkblots

I have been very busy at university this past month, and most of my time has been spent creating a small magazine. The focus was on perspectives of the mind, split personalities and Rorschach Ink Blots.
Below is the fashion editorial I slaved over in photoshop, just don't ask me to recreate it!

Just.found: My Perfect Fragrance?

The search for the perfect fragrance is like the elusive search for the perfect pair of skinny jeans (almost impossible). They should fit perfectly, not to mention be ultra flattering and have that 'Je ne c'est quois' when it comes to allure. You can spend ages trying on endless numbers of styles by numerous designers. Most don't fit, some sort of fit, whilst others just feel completely wrong. But then, after you try one last pair to discover they're you... perfectly you.

I've flitted from fragrance to fragrance, always settling for ones I quite like, never ones I love. This time, I fell in love, I got swept up in the opulent whirlwind of addictive floral's found in Flowerbomb by Viktor & Rolf. Described as 'an antidote to today's reality, an expression of our dreams', it's the perfect expression of me.
